Paula Patton has been called to testify on behalf of her ex-husband Robin Thicke against the lawsuit that was filed against him concerning the copyright infringement case lodged by the family of Marvin Gaye. Patton was listed as a witness in the federal case headed to trial, after Thicke was sued in 2013 for stealing from the Gaye song Got To Give It up for 2013 hit Blurred Lines that was co-created by Thicke and Pharrell Williams.The lawsuit also contained allegations that Thicke s hit song Love After War improperly used Gaye s song After The Dance.Patton was expected to testify about Love After War as she appeared in the music video with Thicke and allegedly co-wrote the song with him. A U.S. federal judge in October denied a motion by Thicke and Williams to reject the copyright infringement claims U.S. District Judge John A. Kronstadt found there was a good argument about whether signature phrases, hooks, bass lines, keyboard chords and vocal melodies in Blurred Lines and Got.
