Lupe Fiasco released his new album ‘The Cool’ on December 18th 07 in the states and has released just the one song from the album as a single though saying that ‘what a tune’ it really is one of my best songs. The song ‘Superstar’ features Matthew Santos who sings vocals on the chorus while Lupe raps the verses. The songs that have been most listened to by me on the album are Superstar ft Matthew Santos, Paris to Tokyo, Go go gadget flow and Hi-definition ft Snoop Dogg. It has not yet been announced what single he will release though I think that it will be Go go gadget flow because it makes sense as its the second best song on the album following the current single. Superstar is still in the UK top charts at #5.
The musician known as Lupe Fiasco, real name Wasalu Muhammad Jaco is an American rapper born February 16th, 1982 (aged 25) was born and raised on the West side of Chicago and is the fifth born child out of the nine brothers and sisters in the family though unfortunately, his father passed away just in 2007. His stage name Lupe Fiasco originated partially from his old nickname ‘Lu’ which he got when he was growing up and his mom gave him the last part of the name ‘Lupe’ but his surname he says came from a song called ‘Firm Fiasco’ from The Firm album and he claimed the name looked good on paper. His music career began when he joined a group called ‘Da Pak’ whom were signed to Epic Records but the group only released one single before they split. Lupe was also signed with Arista Records but was dropped when President and CEO L.A Reid was fired.
Lupe announced in 07 that Kanye West, Pharrell Williams and himself had joined a group known as the ‘Child Rebel Soldier’ not much has been said about this just that they have decided to wait till things settle because of their solo careers.
