After recently purchasing Aspiro, the company that owns Tidal, the online music streaming service, Jay-z has officially launched the service in the US at a press conference today March. 30th 2015. The conference was streamed live but the replay can also be seen on the company’s website at tidal.com. A-List Artists like Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Draft Punk, Chris Martin of cold play, Kanye West and man more were present at the press conference which in their words marks a very historic moment in music. streaming service providing customers with what appear to be the best quality streaming music along with exclusive music and entertainment experiences directly from the artist to the consumers.
Tidal was launched in the US on a soft launch back in October of 2014 but now with this change in ownership things instantly get very interested in the war of music streaming. Apple is yet to launch their Beats streaming service and many artists have already showed that they’re not too happy with Spotify so all in all this not only creates another option for the consumer but it also creates a more competitive playing field so it will be very interesting to see what the different companies heading the music streaming game to retain and increase their customer loyalty.
