A while back Jay z told Jay Electronica he needs to hurry up and Release the Album already. Over the past years since being signed by Roc Nation and seen as one of the more potential-filled Jay-z’s proteges, Jay Electronica has built up a Detox-like mystery around his Forthcoming album which will drop whenever he decides to drop it. Does a complete body of work even exist, if so then why then doesn’t he just follow the format to heat up his buzz by more regularly dropping music? I mean if so many fans and certainly peers and fellow rappers are wanting to hear his lyrical display in the form of a complete body of work then why is he still finger-phucking the situation instead of just going in and giving everyone what they’ve been wanting since he got signed?… HUUUUUGE PAUSE… I guess only Jay Electronica knows the answer to this question.
Quotable Lyrics:
They say you gada pay your dues, I just bought them
What they don’t know wont hurt em
I pledge to never be no one’s burden
Mamma said never disrespect the neighbors
Cus next week we might have to check for favors, that’s science
I can never thank her for it
A 20/20 hindsight is so euphoric, keep shining
nobody can stop your progress,
cuz unknown forces move some known objects, that’s magic
Whatever his reason is for not releasing more music, we certainly can’t deny the fact that the MC has mad skills when it comes to the way he finesses his rhymes. As I write this I can still remember the moment he dropped Shiny Suit Theory which featured Jay-z. It’s not often I Play a Jay-z featured track and repeat another artist’s verse before hearing jays or rather instead of just speeding up to Jigga’s verse. But Electronica’s rhymes have always called for a pull-up. His format is ill…
And with all of that being said, it’s a pleasure to wake up to some new Jay Electronica. This track is called “Letter to Fallon”

In My opinion, Electronica’s got Mad potential but what yall think? is he too old? to build up buzz big enough to drop a successful album. I mean Jay-z also old but to his advantage, Jigga’s got millions of fans who literally grew up with his music, almost like a step-dad when you think of a number of people he mentored and still inspires. Shyt even Electronica’s a fan but we cant’ say the same for Jay Electronica…Maybe he’ll make more money and more sense as a writer for a much younger rapper but who? Aint none of the new poppers J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Drake or Big Sean who will want electronica as a ghost writer. He can almost bet that most if not all of the rappers will buy his album cuz He’s a rapper’s rapper and it’s clear most big name rappers if not all recognize his skills. But who wants to drop an album that’s bought only by 10,000 people? The Legend that is Jay Electronica will become a Laughing stock. Unless of course as a result of all his spiritual quests he’s grown to a place where he’s lost all self-importance and understands that his words are only for selective ears due to his advanced insights into the life of a black man/God and a Spirit being. In that case, 10,000 albums sold can change the world..funny thing only a small percentage of the readers will feel me on this point tho…#asexpected
So, in conclusion, he’s either caught in a catch 22 or he just has a super genius plan but can’t remember where he put it…lol..anyway proc all the questions and assumptions…This is a decent track and as always New Jay Electronica is always welcomed.
