Dr. Dre has put aside some $10 million to go towards a performing arts complex at the new Compton High School. This is according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. The complex will be decked out in-state-of-the-art equipment facility as well as a 1,200-seat theater.
In a statement Dre said, “My goal is to provide kids with the kind of tools and learning they deserve. The performing arts center will be a place for young people to be creative in a way that will help further their education and positively define their furture.” The entertainer will also be involved directly in the process to procure the remainder of the funding needed to build the complex. After compeleted, the performing arts center will be available to the community of Compton at large.
