Lil Wayne Top 5 Tracks From “The Carter“.
“The Carter” dropped 13 years ago on June 29th of 2004 and is the 4th studio album by the famous singer, Lil Wayne but the very first of the ‘That Carter’ series produced by Cash Money and Universal records and handled by producer Mannie Fresh before the left the label
The album got its title based on ‘The Carter’ which is the empire crack house from the 1991 movie ‘New Jack City’. And it happens to also be the singer’s last name!
The Carter includes top songs like “I miss my dawg“, “Ain’t that a bitch“, “This is Carter” and features artists such as Mannie Fresh, Birdman, and Reel.
The 21 track album hit number 5 on the popular Billboard 200 during the first week with a sale of 116,000 copies in the U.S and 878,000 by November 2005.
The fifth studio album, The Carter II by American rapper Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. (Lil Wayne) was released on December 6th, 2005 by Cash Money Records and Universal Distribution with Birdman and Ronald “Slim” Williams being the executive producers.
The Carter II is actually a sequel to the first Album of the series “The Carter” and incorporates a southern Hip hop style.
The singles “Fireman“, “Hustler Musik” and “Shooter” were the three top singles in the 22 tracks album which featured singers like Robin Thicke and Birdman.
It sold 2 million copies and was rated the best work to date by Wayne.
Being the third Album in the series “The Carter”, The Carter III was considered on the most anticipated album of 2008 and included rappers and other genres of singers like Jay-Z, T-Pain, Busta Rhymes and Robin Thicke in order to give Wayne more exposure.
The 5th recorded album debuted #1 on Billboard 200 charts by the end of 2008 with over 2 million sales and included popular songs like “A million, Got Money and You Ain’t got Nuthin‘” is an album of 16 songs where some of them were leaked during the making.
With 15 tracks and featured artists like Drake and T-Pain, The Carter IV was released on August 29th, 2011 and was Wayne’s second album to have reach #1 on the Billboard 200 charts.
But being the ninth album and the 4th in the series, fans were a little disappointed after comparing this one to the previous ones. Nevertheless, songs like “6foot 7foot, Interlude and “How to Love” were top tunes of that album.
According to Lil Wayne during interviews and his tweets, The Carter V will be the last of The Carter series and the last of his solo album!
He announced that the release date would be October 28th of this month and also said it’s perfect.
The album cover is a picture of a Little Wayne and his mom and he told ESPN, “This album means a lot to me”.
The Carter V is said to have featured artists like Drake, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West and tons more!
So look out Wayne fans! Will The Carter V make us forget about The Carter IV?
